I Wondered Why?

About this book

As our heroine heads out to play, she asks her mother, "Why are people not happy? Why does it seem like some people don't even like each other and are oh so very, very mean?" And her mother simply tells her, "You will figure that out for yourself, right in your very own head!" " And our heroine is left wondering exactly what her dear, sweet mother means and why her dear, sweet mother said what she said. And so, our heroine decides to ask everyone she knows what they think about what her mother said when she asked her mother those questions. And (as usual) she begins with her friend, the elephant!Think about what you would tell our heroine as you practice reading skills, and as you build your reading word vocabulary through word recognition, word repetition and rhyme, all of which you will find on the pages this fun, 'learn to read' book written and illustrated by award winning author, attorney and former teacher, Penelope Dyan. But most of all, have fun as you learn; because learning must be (and should always be) fun, or a kid like you just won't love to learn!
