Saint Bishoy

About this book

Saint Bishoy: The Beloved of Christ by Deacon George is an illustrated Orthodox children's book about the great fourth-century desert saint, told from the point of view of his brother.St Bishoy grew up with six brothers. When he was young, his mother had a vision in which an angel told her that the Lord had chosen Bishoy to serve Him as a special vessel of grace. He began his monastic journey at just twenty years old and grew from glory to glory. He is best known for his strong ascetic struggle and for the many times the Lord Jesus appeared to him, even once letting St Bishoy carry Him.The story of St Anba Bishoy is much loved among Christians. He is also called "St Bishoy the Perfect Man", which shows how much we can learn from his life. This book aims to stir a holy zeal in every child who picks it up, showing them that God is real and very close to His children. A lovely book for families, grandparents and Sunday school teachers who want to introduce children to the saints of the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Desert Fathers of Egypt.
