Saint Anna Simone

About this book

St Anna Simone was the daughter of the King of Constantinople in the seventh century. When her father died, she took the throne. Yet despite the riches and honour she had as queen, her heart longed for something greater. Saint Anna Simone: The Humble Queen tells her story for children. Her strong desire to live for the Lord led her to leave the kingdom and flee to the wilderness. She lived humbly among the nuns of a convent, hiding who she was. When her holiness became known, she escaped and spent the rest of her life as a hermit. Her story is a beautiful example of someone who denied herself and followed the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. As a child, she loved reading the stories of the saints, and she followed their example all her life.Told through the eyes of her spiritual father, this book from the St Shenouda Press Kids Series is written for children aged about 6 and up. It is ideal for parents, grandparents and Sunday school teachers who want to share the lives of the saints with young readers, and it will encourage children to seek God wholeheartedly and to enjoy reading about the saints, just as she did.
