Madness to Manifestation

About this book

"Lesley's story is a rare and powerful bridge between trauma psychology and lived experience. She shows us how unprocessed pain can masquerade as instability and how healing requires both science and compassion. This book will give language to people who have felt misunderstood by diagnosis alone."--Dr. Maggie Vaughan, founder and executive director, Happy AppleLesley Yvonne Hunter appeared to have it all-public poise, professional achievement, a crown, a marriage, and a life marked by discipline and grace. But beneath the polish lived a nervous system shaped by childhood sexual trauma, inherited sensitivity, and silent survival. When psychological breakdowns in adulthood forced her into hospitalization, medication trials, and intensive trauma therapy, Lesley faced a terrifying question: Was her mind broken or was it trying to tell her something? In this courageous and deeply reflective memoir, Lesley traces her journey from collapse to coherence. Through EMDR, nervous system regulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and relentless self-inquiry, she transforms what once felt like madness into integration. Along the way, she reclaims the intuitive gifts inherited from her grandmother, the empathy modeled by her mother, and the discipline instilled by her father, refining sensitivity into strength.Blending neuroscience and spirituality, artistry and accountability, Lesley offers readers more than a story of survival. She provides a framework for manifestation grounded in regulation, alignment, and daily practice. Foreword by Maureen Lippe.
