Purpose in Prayer

About this book

Purpose in Prayer is a classic Christian devotional work by Edward M. Bounds, one of the best-known writers on prayer in modern evangelical literature. Bounds treats prayer not as a formal religious habit, but as a living discipline of faith, dependence, persistence, and spiritual power. With urgency and conviction, he argues that purposeful prayer shapes the life of the believer, strengthens Christian service, deepens communion with God, and lies at the centre of effective spiritual life.Written in the plain, forceful style that made Bounds's works enduring devotional classics, Purpose in Prayer belongs beside Power Through Prayer, The Necessity of Prayer, The Essentials of Prayer, and his other writings on Christian devotion. The book speaks to readers interested in prayer, spiritual growth, Christian living, faith, revival, ministry, and the disciplined inner life. For the Sublime catalogue, it fits cleanly within the line's cluster of serious religious classics, devotional literature, and practical works on Christian spiritual formation.
