About this book

Twelve lies are holding you back from the life God already promised. You love God. You read the Bible. You try to do the right things. So why does your faith still feel dry, frustrating, or stuck? You're not alone and it's not because you're doing Christianity wrong. It's because you've been believing lies about what a "good Christian life" is supposed to look like.In The Life You Were Reborn to Live, bestselling author and pastor Gary Thomas exposes twelve subtle but powerful deceptions that quietly drain joy and block intimacy with God and shows you how to replace them with freeing truth straight from Scripture. The 12 Lies That Keep You Stuck: Restlessness--believing you'll find peace only when life changes. The Need to Control--thinking you can fix what only God can. Family First--idolizing loved ones instead of trusting God with them. Isolation--choosing independence over the healing power of community. Self-Centered Salvation--making faith about you instead of Christ. The Need for Comfort--equating blessing with ease. The Demand for a Sin-Free Life--trying to earn what grace already gave. Apathy Toward the Church--rejecting the very place God designed for growth. A Materialistic Worldview--seeing only the visible and missing the supernatural. The Allure of Earthly Splendor--chasing applause instead of purpose. A Sense of Entitlement--confusing what it means to be rescued. Complacent Ignorance--dismissing the small, steady work of wisdom in your everyday life. This isn't another checklist for spiritual growth. It's an invitation to unlearn. To dismantle the false beliefs that keep you from the abundant, joy-filled life God has already placed within reach. If you've ever thought, "I'm doing everything I'm supposed to, but I don't feel close to God," this book is for you.
