Sacred Parenting

About this book

Discover a whole new side of parenting and how much of a gift it is, even when it seems overwhelming. Unlike other parenting books, Gary Thomas wrote Sacred Parenting to help parents of all stages see how God uses children to change us--their parents. Through these timeless lessons, you'll discover how raising children teaches us to: Find joy in the demands that children make on our lives. Listen with more care and intent. Understand with greater clarity how much God loves us. Build our own patience, perseverance, and empathy. The journey of caring for, rearing, training, and loving our children profoundly alters us forever. Even when the journey is a rough one, God uses the experience to train, shape, and love us. You'll be encouraged by stories that tell how other parents handled the challenges and difficulties of being a parent and how their children transformed their relationship with God.The lessons that Gary Thomas--bestselling author of Sacred Marriage--offers are timeless. In this edition, Thomas adds in some additional insights and stories that he's learned and lived over the past fifteen years of his own parenting journey.Parenting is a school for spiritual formation. . .and our children are our teachers.
