The Family Healthcare Playbook

About this book

One family medical emergency can change everything. For global tech communications leader Karesha McGee, that emergency arose when her mother faced a series of life-changing health crises, and McGee suddenly became her caregiver. Most family caregivers are "accidental." You didn't apply for this job, and you weren't trained for it, but when a medical emergency strikes in your family, you're thrown into the deep end: a new world of medical and legal jargon, insurance paperwork, and emotional exhaustion. McGee realized that while she was an expert in corporate crisis management, there was no blueprint for navigating a family medical crisis. She had to build one. That is this book.In The Family Healthcare Playbook, McGee blends more than 20 years of executive leadership experience with the hard-earned lessons of a primary caregiver.
