Read Me a Story
About this book
This song-story, with its beautiful illustrations and captivating singalong chorus, will quickly pull on the heartstrings of both the reader and the listener. Originally written and performed for the Mary R. Fisher Elementary School's annual assembly in celebration of "Read Across America," a reading initiative by the National Education Association, Read Me a Story highlights moments in a young boy's life.He starts with a plea to his Mom, "Can you read, read, read me a story?" Then he's a student at school whose teacher asks him to read her a story questions, "Where? What? Or who? Did you find any clues?" Later in life, when he has grown up and has a child of his own, life comes full circle as he hears his own son whisper, "Can you read, read, read me a story?"The sheet music at the end of the book and the beautiful recording of the song (free online), transform this engaging story into a singalong for all generations to enjoy. You'll be humming the tune long after you read the last words of the book: "Just read me a story. Then I'm off to sleep."About the AuthorCarol Rossetti's love of music led her to pursue a career in music education, a calling she has enjoyed since 1986 at the Mary Fisher Elementary School. Carol received her BS in Music Education from Western CT State University and her Masters from Central CT State University.
