The Secret

About this book

In The Secret, Dr. C. Baxter Kruger offers a profound and illuminating message: the truth of our identity and existence is found in our inclusion in the relationship of the Triune God-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is not religious theory, but the bedrock reality of who we are, what life is, and how we are meant to live it.Through vivid parables, personal stories, and theological depth, Kruger exposes the lie that we are lost, alone, and abandoned-a lie whispered by "the troll," a metaphor for the evil that sows doubt and shame in human hearts. Like the kid at the fair who gets separated from his parents and loses all joy, or the Dwarfs in C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle who cannot see the beauty around them, we live blinded by fear, guilt, and the belief that we are not enough. But the gospel, Kruger asserts, is not about separation. It is about Immanuel-God with us, now and forever. Jesus Christ did not come merely to fix our behavior or offer us a future hope. He came to draw us into His own relationship with the Father in the Spirit. In Jesus, we are not just saved from sin-we are brought into the divine life, into the eternal embrace and delight of God.The Secret brings theological richness into the everyday. Whether it's a mother shopping for her daughter's coat, a scientist passionate about preserving plants, or a golfer wondering how God fits into his game, Kruger shows that all of life is already saturated with the presence and glory of God. We are not on the outside trying to get in. We are already in, already included, already living in Jesus' relationship with the Father-if only we had eyes to see it.Kruger challenges the reader to reconsider the most fundamental assumptions about God, self, and the world. He invites us to wake up from the illusion of separation and discover that we are already seated at the feast, already holding golden goblets filled with divine joy-even if we've been tasting only dirty water. This book is a call to remember who we are: not the whispered "I am not..." of shame, but the eternal truth from the Father-"Thou art Mine." It is an invitation to participate in the divine dance, the perichoresis of Father, Son, and Spirit, and to discover that the secret of life is not something we achieve, but a relationship into which we've already been welcomed. With warmth, clarity, and passion, The Secret is a transformative message of hope and identity. It reminds us that the beauty of life is not far away. It is here, now-because God is with us.
