Saved by Mercy, Held by Grace

About this book

What happens to children who die before they are able to understand and respond to the gospel? What about infants, young children, or those with profound disabilities or limited comprehension? In Saved by Mercy, Held by Grace, Dr. Ed Grefiel approaches these difficult questions with biblical conviction, pastoral compassion, and a clear focus on Jesus Christ. This book examines what Scripture reveals about original sin, accountability, human inability, God's mercy, saving grace, and Christ's finished work. It explores God's heart toward little ones while maintaining a foundational truth: salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.Written especially for parents, grieving families, pastors, ministry leaders, and Christians seeking biblical understanding, this book addresses questions surrounding infants and children who die, children with limited comprehension, and the hope believers can have in the perfect character of God.With reflection questions, pastoral counsel, prayers, a mercy-and-grace framework, and theological guidance, Saved by Mercy, Held by Grace offers more than answers-it points hurting and searching hearts toward the sufficiency of Christ and the justice, mercy, grace, and goodness of God.When a child cannot reach for Christ, can we trust Christ to reach for the child? This book invites readers to search the Scriptures, rest in Christ's finished work, and entrust the little ones they love to the God who knows them completely.
