About this book

In a culture where knowledge is often prioritized over experience, How to Know God: By Waiting on Him in the Power and Presence of His Holy Spirit invites readers into something deeper than merely knowing about God. In this inspiring devotional, Thomas Johnson offers a heartfelt and practical invitation to cultivate a personal relationship with God through the practice of waiting on Him in the power and presence of His Holy Spirit.Through thirty-one thoughtfully crafted daily devotionals, readers are encouraged to slow down, quiet their hearts, and seek God with openness and expectation. Drawing from Scripture and personal experience, Johnson emphasizes a profound truth: knowing facts about God is not the same as knowing Him personally. As believers learn to wait on Him, they begin to experience His love, wisdom, and transforming presence in a deeper and more intimate way. After years of struggling with personal weakness and life's challenges, the author discovered a life-changing breakthrough through the simple practice of waiting on God. Influenced in part by Andrew Murray's classic Waiting on God, he learned that lasting transformation comes not through striving in human strength, but through trusting God to work from within and reveal the life of Christ.Rather than presenting a set of formulas or theological arguments, this book offers a practical pathway toward spiritual growth and renewed intimacy with God. Readers are gently guided to seek Him daily, allowing His presence to bring peace, hope, freedom, and a deeper awareness of His purpose.Whether you are seeking spiritual renewal, freedom from persistent struggles, or a closer walk with God, How to Know God offers a refreshing reminder that your heavenly Father loves you and longs for you to know Him personally. As you learn to wait on God, you will discover hope renewed, peace, and the transformative presence and power of a God who loves you.About Thomas JohnsonThomas Johnson has been a follower of Christ since 1974, when he committed his life to Jesus while attending Moorhead State University in Minnesota. His spiritual journey took a transformative turn in 1998 through his involvement with Ed Silvoso's Harvest Evangelism ministry, opening the door to a deeper understanding of prayer, revival, and the work of the Holy Spirit.Over the years, Thomas has participated in ministry efforts across the United States and internationally, including Israel, Argentina, Belize, Mexico, Haiti, and the Philippines. Through five annual trips to Argentina, he witnessed the impact of spiritual revival firsthand and learned the practice of prayer-walking, which became a significant part of his ministry life. From 2000 to 2016, Thomas and a small team of intercessors regularly prayer-walked high-crime neighborhoods throughout the Tampa Bay area. In one community, documented crime statistics showed a nearly 40 percent reduction in reported crime during a fifteen-week period of focused prayer.Through his writing, Thomas shares the lessons, insights, and spiritual truths he has learned from decades of walking with God and seeking His presence.
