Jesus Speaks From the Cross

About this book

Come to the cross.See the scene.Hear His words.Discover His heart. And allow Jesus to speak to you. What were the final words spoken by Jesus as He hung on the cross? More importantly, what do those words mean for us today? In Jesus Speaks, Pastor Dave Rajoon invites readers to journey to Calvary and listen carefully to the final sayings of Christ. More than a study of Scripture, this devotional encourages readers to use their mind's eye-to stand among the crowd, hear the sounds, see the faces, and experience the events surrounding the crucifixion as they unfold in the Gospel narratives. Through this unique approach, the reader is drawn beyond the pages of Scripture and into the very scene of Christ's suffering, sacrifice, and triumph.Drawn from the Gospel accounts and presented in a devotional format, each of Jesus' seven last sayings is explored through a key aspect of His character and ministry: Intercession, Heaven, Compassion, Forsaken, Humanity, Finished, and Intimacy. These words are far more than historical statements. They reveal the heart of the Savior and speak of forgiveness and redemption, suffering and sacrifice, love and obedience, hope and eternal life. This expanded and updated Second Edition includes a special bonus study on Psalm 22, the remarkable prophetic psalm that foreshadows the suffering, death, and ultimate triumph of Christ on the cross. Written centuries before Calvary, Psalm 22 provides a powerful backdrop to Jesus' cry, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" and offers profound insight into the meaning of His sacrifice.Through biblical teaching, practical application, reflection questions, and prayer, readers are encouraged to move beyond simply reading the words of Jesus to experiencing their transforming power. Whether used for personal devotions, small group study, Bible classes, or as a resource for a meaningful Good Friday service, Jesus Speaks will deepen your appreciation for the cross and strengthen your understanding of the One who died there for you.
