Everything That Is Beautiful

About this book

Everything That is Beautiful offers a tender reminder that hope, faith, and love can endure through even the deepest grief. After the death of her oldest child, who had special needs, Angie Pleasant Kinman began to write spiritual poetry as a way of holding loss, memory, and the quiet presence of grace. Divided into four movements inspired by the natural world-sky, tree, water, bloom-these poems trace a journey toward renewal, drawing from the mountains that shaped her childhood and a lifelong connection to the sacred and the stunning. With honesty and reverence, Kinman shares her journey of deep breaths, deep listening, and finding a way to let in the light. The poems in Everything That Is Beautiful are more than simply beautiful and more than simply true. In this book, Angie Kinman shows us how stillness can teach the way forward. How a heart open to the singing world can save us from ourselves. How grief strips us bare, and love makes our very lives a prayer. Margaret Renkl, author of The Comfort of Crows Angie Kinman writes light into words. Her poems are a creative and gentle invitation into healing and renewed hope. In the words of Henri Nouwen, Kinman is a "wounded healer" who takes the reader by the hand and walks them back into the province of promise and joy. -Farrell Mason, author of Soulfull I have long admired Angie Kinman's heart, courage, and the depth with which she experiences the world around her. In these pages, she shares that heart with us, transforming love and loss into offerings of beauty, remembrance, and hope. -Ruta Sepetys
