To the Regions Beyond

About this book

What happens when a woman says yes to a divine call and follows it across continents? In To the Regions Beyond, Christian missionary memoirist Lela F. Folkers shares a profound journey of faith that began with a choice: whether to live for herself or to commit fully to God's service. After graduating with a degree in education from Fresno State, Lela heard a spiritual calling that would carry her far beyond her small hometown in California. She said yes. From the Himalayan foothills of India to the jungles of Papua New Guinea, the islands of the South Pacific, and the steppes of Mongolia, Lela's four decades as a missionary teacher and traveler unfold with vivid detail and heartfelt reflection. Through every transition, from teaching at Woodstock School in India to serving in places such as Puerto Rico, Uzbekistan, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, and China, she testifies to God's enduring presence and protection. This inspiring travel memoir is not only about where she went. It is about how faith guided every step. To the Regions Beyond is for readers who seek real-life testimonies of Christian service, women in missions, cross-cultural teaching, and the joy of trusting God's promises. Step into a life of adventure, obedience, and grace, and discover what it means to go wherever God leads. Perfect for readers of Christian missionary memoirs, India travel memoirs, and inspirational faith journeys.
