Feed Your Team

About this book

The promotion came with a title - but no instructions. Most new leaders are handed teams and goals without a roadmap, left to learn through gaffes, guesswork, and the kind of late-night failures nobody warned them about. Feed Your Team is the book Cody Hand wishes he'd had on day one - a practical, story-driven guide for first-time managers, newly promoted executives, and the leaders who promote them.It started with a homemade lasagna. After a year of leading a fractured team he didn't know how to repair, Cody cooked his team lunch - and watched trust take root in a way no offsite or org chart ever managed. From that single shared meal grew a leadership philosophy built on a simple truth: great leaders feed their teams. Sometimes literally. Always intentionally.Inside, you'll learn how to: Shift from doer of things to leader of people Diagnose what your team is actually hungry for - and feed accordingly Lead a five-generation team without losing your mind Run a 30-minute 1-on-1 that builds trust instead of awkward silence Give feedback that lands, receive feedback without shutting down, and let someone go with dignity Drawn from two decades across healthcare, politics, and the practice of law - and from the failures Cody is refreshingly candid about - Feed Your Team delivers the scripts, frameworks, and hard-won lessons you can use Monday morning. You don't have to figure this out alone. Pull up a chair.
