The Shepherd Remembers

About this book

The story begins in wonder: a young shepherd boy, scared of the dark and trying to stay awake, suddenly swarmed by angels and the glory of God. But unlike most Christmas stories, you don't leave him after the manger-you walk with him into adulthood, into discipleship. Kids get to see what happened after Christmas... through the eyes of someone who was there. It's like "The Little Drummer Boy" meets The Gospel of John-but with an old man's wisdom retelling the tale to starry-eyed grandchildren. This story was written to be read aloud. It is meant for laps and lamp-light, for pauses and questions, for wonder and quiet reflection. While the shepherd called "Saba" is a fictional witness, every effort has been made to honor the truth and heart of Scripture. This book does not attempt to replace the Bible, but to invite young hearts into it-to show that the child in the manger is the Savior of the world, and that following Him is a lifelong journey.May this story help families remember...and believe.
