The Story of the King

About this book

The long wait is over. The King has arrived. The Bible is not a collection of disconnected tales; it is one grand, epic story about a King and His promise. In Part 1, you traced the scarlet thread of that promise through the shadows of the Old Testament. Now, in "The Story of the King: Part 2," you will witness the dawn of the True Light. This daily devotional guides your family chronologically through the New Testament, from the humble manger in Bethlehem to the glorious vision of the New Jerusalem. Each of the 120 daily readings is crafted from the majestic King James Version, gently clarified for young hearts, and designed to be read together in just ten minutes a day.You will walk with Jesus by the Sea of Galilee, stand in awe at the foot of the cross where the price for sin was paid, and rejoice at the empty tomb that conquered death forever. You will travel with the apostles as they turn the world upside down with the good news, and look forward with hope to the return of the King of Kings. The unique feature of this book continues to be the "Fulfillment of Prophecy" section that concludes every story. This is the key that unlocks the New Testament, showing how every event in the life of Jesus and the early church was the perfect answer to the ancient promises of God. You will see how the Virgin Birth fulfilled Isaiah's sign, how the crucifixion was foretold by King David, and how the resurrection is the victory the world has waited for since Eden. The purpose of this book is to help your family behold the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. It is an invitation to see that the entire Bible is one unified story of redemption, centered on the one true King who has come to save His people.
