Saint Nicholas Around the World

About this book

Have you ever wondered how families around the world celebrate the feast of Saint Nicholas? Step into a gentle, shimmering journey that follows a child who travels beside Saint Nicholas and discovers the beauty of his life, his miracles, and the traditions that grew from them. The adventure begins in ancient Myra, where Nicholas served as a bishop who cared for the poor and trusted God with every need. From there, the journey moves across seas and snowy rooftops into the first countries that honored him. Children discover the story of the three daughters who received secret help, the innocent men who were saved from punishment, the grain that multiplied during a terrible famine, the sailors who were rescued in a storm, and the child who was brought safely home through Nicholas's prayers. Each miracle reveals a different piece of the saint's heart and draws readers deeper into the wonder of his faith. As the journey unfolds, young readers see families placing polished shoes by the door, offering quiet prayers at candlelit icons, giving away small gifts, and preparing for Christmas through simple acts of love. They learn that Saint Nicholas Day is not only a custom from long ago but also a joyful part of Advent that invites every family to practice generosity, hope, and trust in God.This story gently weaves history, tradition, and holiness into a single path that leads directly to the heart of the season. It encourages children to wonder, to ask questions, and to see the light of grace in every corner of the world that remembers this beloved saint.
