The Prayers of St. Augustine

About this book

Burning with Love; Prayers of St. Augustine ReimaginedEnter the soul of one of the Church's greatest saints. This prayer book gathers beloved prayers attributed to St. Augustine and presents them in a fresh, poetic, and deeply devotional style that awakens the heart. Each prayer captures Augustine's passion, humility, and longing for God-inviting readers into a more intimate, confessional, and transformative encounter with the Divine. Perfect for daily prayer, meditation, or spiritual renewal. Here is an excerpt that reflects the beauty contained within: O Lord my God- You who are mercy itself, hidden from my eyes yet nearer to me than my own breath;unchanging in Your eternity, yet ordering all things that change. You are never young, never old, ever working, yet eternally at rest;the Creator of all, the Sustainer of all, the perfection toward which all things long. What do I possess that is not Your gift? What can my tongue utter of You, when even my words are borrowed from the breath You give? And yet, O Lord, stoop down to me in Your compassion.Permit me-dust and frailty though I am-to speak to You, to praise You, to whisper Your holy Name with trembling love. - compiled and edited by J.M.
