Two Minutes with God

About this book

"Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10) In our hurried world, stillness has become a lost art. We rush from task to task, notification to notification, crisis to crisis, often forgetting that our souls were designed for something deeper than perpetual motion. Yet somewhere beneath the surface of our busy lives, we sense a longing-a quiet hunger for connection with the God who made us. This book is built on a simple but profound premise: transformation happens in moments, not marathons. Two minutes of focused attention on God's Word can redirect an entire day. Two minutes of prayer can shift your perspective from anxiety to peace. Two minutes of reflection can turn ordinary experiences into encounters with the divine. How to Use This BookThese devotions are dated but not dated. Start wherever you are in the calendar year, or begin with January 1st and work through systematically. Each devotion stands alone, so if you miss a day (or a week), simply pick up where you are rather than trying to catch up. Each devotion follows the same simple pattern: A biblical text that serves as the foundation A brief reflection that explains and applies the passage A practical question to carry with you throughout the day Read slowly. Think deeply. Apply practically. Some days the words will leap off the page; other days they may seem routine. Trust the process. God often works through ordinary means to accomplish extraordinary things. A Personal InvitationYou are embarking on more than a reading plan-you are accepting an invitation to daily friendship with God. He is not distant or disinterested in your daily struggles and joys. He is near, and He speaks through His Word to hearts that are willing to listen. Two minutes with God may seem small, but it places you in the stream of God's grace. And that stream, flowing day by day through the ordinary moments of your life, has the power to change everything. Your Friend in Christ, Barry L. Davis
