Obey

About this book

What if obedience wasn't about burden, but about blessing? What if surrender to Christ wasn't the end of joy, but the beginning of it?In Obey: Joyful Submission to the Lordship of Christ, Joel Banner takes readers into the heart of biblical obedience - not as a heavy chain, but as the pathway to freedom, peace, and lasting joy. Far too often, the word obedience conjures fear, guilt, or the memory of failure. But Scripture paints a richer picture: obedience is the fruit of love, the evidence of true faith, and the rhythm of a life lived under the gracious reign of Jesus Christ.Across 30 days of thoughtful devotionals, Banner weaves together Scripture, the wisdom of the church through the ages, and pastoral encouragement for believers at every stage. Each reflection points to the beauty of Christ's own obedience and invites readers to walk in His steps with faith, courage, and delight. You'll discover how obedience transforms ordinary choices, sustains us in trials, and opens the way to deeper fellowship with God.This volume is part of the A Firm Foundation series, designed to ground new believers and strengthen seasoned ones in the unshakable truths of the gospel. If you long to know the joy of living fully surrendered to Christ, this book will help you see obedience not as a duty to endure, but as a delight to embrace. The call of Jesus is simple and clear: "Follow Me." Will you say yes?
