Seeking Sanctuary

About this book

Seeking Sanctuary is a powerful collection of contemporary prayers and poems written in response to a world in crisis. Drawing on Jewish liturgy, biblical memory, and lived experience, Rabbi Erin Boxt gives voice to grief and gratitude, anger and hope, faith and doubt. These prayers emerge from moments of communal worship and private struggle - from pandemics and war to injustice, loss, and resilience - offering language when words feel impossible. At once pastoral and prophetic, A Seeking Sanctuary refuses easy answers and insists on honest prayer that meets real life. This is a book for seekers and skeptics alike, for clergy and lay readers, and for anyone longing to remain human, hopeful, and spiritually grounded in a fractured world.
