Chasing the Wind

About this book

What if the Holy Spirit isn't someone you have to strive to reach, but a joyful Friend inviting you into childlike wonder, reconciled rest, and everyday encounters with God's tangible presence? In Chasing the Wind, Bill Vanderbush invites you on a refreshing, experiential journey that moves beyond heavy religion into the lighthearted heart of the Kingdom. Maturity in the Spirit, he reveals, looks like restored childlikeness-full of laughter, surrender, and playful discovery.Drawing from Scripture, powerful real-life stories, and over 40 simple, practical activities, this book helps you experience the embrace that Jesus made possible. You'll Discover: How reconciliation is already finished-the war is over, and the Father's arms are wide open. Move from head knowledge of objective truth to heart-satisfying subjective encounter. The Holy Spirit as the embrace that turns theology into encounter-He bears witness to your beloved identity, gently convicts lies of separation, guides you into all truth (a Person, not a plan), and seals the relationship forever. The gifts of the Spirit as joyful favors at the bridal banquet, not rewards for performance-prophecy, healing, words of knowledge, and more flow naturally from rest. The fruit of the Spirit as the effortless fragrance of a reconciled heart-love, joy, peace, patience, and the rest grow when you abide instead of strive. Discover insights into the nurturing "mother-heart" of God expressed through the Holy Spirit, rooted in Scripture and early Church tradition. Imagine waking up no longer striving to earn God's approval, but resting in the finished work of the cross-free to laugh, risk, fail, and love with abandon. You'll move from head knowledge to heart encounter, from fear of missing God's voice to confident friendship with the One who never leaves.Experience the liberating shift: anxiety about performance melts into childlike trust. Dry places come alive with fresh joy and wonder. Relationships deepen as the fruit flows naturally. And everyday moments-traffic lights, quiet mornings, conversations with strangers-become adventures where the Holy Spirit shows up in powerful, personal ways.If you've longed for a faith that's vibrant, relational, and fun-where the Holy Spirit feels like a playful wind you can dance in rather than a frustrating puzzle to solve-Chasing the Wind is your invitation.Step into reconciled rest. Rediscover childlike wonder. Chase the Wind with the Holy Spirit.
