The Everyday Christian

About this book

Can you not watch for an hour with Me? Jesus' question still echoes today, quietly confronting a generation of believers who long for God's power but neglect His presence. In THE EVERYDAY CHRISTIAN: CAN YOU NOT WATCH FOR AN HOUR WITH ME?, Martinluther Nwaneri exposes a painful contradiction in modern Christianity: believers who expect God's immediate intervention in crises while living largely disconnected from Him in daily life. God is honoured in church settings, yet sidelined in the ordinary hours where His guidance, healing, and wisdom are most needed. Drawing deeply from Scripture, especially Jesus' teaching in John 10:27, this book challenges the "Sunday-only" version of faith and calls believers back to a living, daily walk with God. It reveals how spiritual drift occurs when Christians celebrate God as Shepherd but fail to live as sheep who hear, follow, and obey His voice. At its heart, this book is an invitation into intentional daily fellowship with God. It shows that sitting with God each day is not a religious routine but a divine invitation, one that transforms the believer from the inside out. Through biblical insight, pastoral clarity, and practical wisdom, readers will discover how offering God their time becomes a spiritual sacrifice that unlocks wisdom, emotional healing, supernatural strength, and spiritual clarity. Using powerful biblical examples, including the life of King Saul, the book illustrates the dangers of a fragmented spiritual life and the cost of serving God without sustained devotion. It also addresses the real obstacles that hinder daily communion, distraction, emotional exhaustion, spiritual warfare, and misconceptions about God, offering Scripture-based strategies to overcome them. This is not a call to legalism, but to intimacy. Not to performance, but to presence. Over time, daily fellowship becomes a joyful rhythm of abiding, a lifestyle where the believer is renewed, guided, corrected, and strengthened by God Himself. This book calls readers to abandon crisis-driven spirituality and embrace a life of intentional communion with God. In that sacred place, one truth becomes unmistakably clear: God Himself is the reward.
