Prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary

About this book

The Gospel of Luke presents the relationship between Jesus and Mary from the very beginning as a free collaboration: Mary's "yes" at the Annunciation makes it possible for the Word to become flesh. From that moment on, Mary's motherhood becomes inseparably united to Christ's redemptive mission. The accounts of the Birth and of the hidden life in Nazareth show a relationship marked by silence, intimacy, and obedience. Mary is the one who swaddles, nourishes, and protects the Son of God. The Gospel emphasizes that Mary "kept all these things in her heart." Based on this unbreakable bond, Prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary seeks to be a book of prayer and reflection that accompanies the birth, childhood, and life of Jesus together with His mother, contemplating how God makes use of human bonds to bring His work of salvation to fulfillment. With a novena of prayer, traditional images of Jesus and Mary, and related biblical quotations, it invites the reader to enter into a spirituality that is simple, profound, and centered on love. This book is a support for personal and family prayer, for times of consolation and also for moments of interior searching, when one needs to return to the Heart that saves and to the Heart that leads to Christ. Ideal for those who wish to strengthen their devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to meditate on the Word, and to grow in trust, obedience, and self-surrender.
