Before the Most Blessed Sacrament

About this book

Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, renowned for his profound spiritual life and closeness to ordinary people, focused much of his work on Eucharistic devotion. His method, expressed in the "Visits to the Most Blessed Sacrament", proposes an intimate encounter with Christ present in the Eucharist: brief meditation, sincere affections of the soul, and final prayer. The direct and heartfelt language of Liguori, designed for those who wish to pray with the heart and without complications, has kept his writings alive in churches, convents, and homes throughout the centuries. Before the Most Blessed Sacrament: A Devotional Inspired by Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori embraces this tradition and renews it for today's reader. Inspired by the teachings of the Saint, the book offers prayers and a novena to adore, make reparation, and ask for perseverance in the presence of the Lord. Liguori invites, with pastoral realism, to confront spiritual lukewarmness and to respond with love and true constancy, teaching how to pray with simple words and to recognize the importance of the personal presence of Christ in the Eucharist. With traditional images, spaces to write intentions, and carefully chosen biblical quotes, this devotional is the ideal companion for those seeking to deepen their prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Meant for both parish life and personal use, it accompanies the believer on the journey of adoration, reparation, and simple, filial dialogue with God, following the enduring example of Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori.
