If I never tell you this story, you'll never know.

About this book

For twenty-three years and across ten Oklahoma towns, W. Gene Smith coached high school football - but the work that outlasted him was written by hand, a little at a time. What began as a way through grief became a daily habit he kept for more than forty years. Those writings are gathered here into one last conversation: the towns and teams he coached, the lessons the game taught him, the faith that carried him into the final quarter, and the love that stayed after everything else was gone.Compiled by his wife, Judy, If I Never Tell You, You'll Never Know is the story of a coach, a husband, a Papa, and a man of God - and a quiet challenge to the rest of us: write yours down, before it's ever forgotten.
