About this book

From the bestselling author of The Bible Is Funny Card Game, a 60-day devotional that humorously introduces the human side of biblical figures, reveals our similarities, and reminds us how God loves us all Supervisor: Are you sure you're using enough mortar?Jericho wall builders: ...yes.Supervisor: You sure that line of bricks is level?Jericho wall builders: ...yes.Supervisor: That's not a weight-bearing wall you're working on, is it?Jericho wall builders: IT WAS A LITERAL ACT OF GOD! The Bible is an ancient yet living text that has transformed countless lives, though--whether because of overfamiliarization or watered-down interpretations--we can often forget this. The Bible is Funny Devotional, from the creator of The Bible Is Funny Card Game, reverses this trend by inviting both seasoned and novice Bible enthusiasts to engage with the Bible in a new way. These 60 devotions reframe familiar biblical narratives through a lens of humor and relatable experiences and reveals how the people in the Bible are not characters but actual flesh-and-blood humans. While a version of this devotional was previously published in 2021, this revised edition contains all-new imagined dialogue and letters between biblical figures, rearranged and re-written devotions, added reflection questions, and ample journaling space. Biblical figures were not only ancient individuals gracing the pages of our Bibles. They were also regular humans and did some of the same ridiculous stuff we still do today. Through their stories, you just might discover new insights into the character of God, find relief in how he is still active in daily life, and discover the ways he shows up for you...just like he did for people all those years ago.
