Grace and Mercy Got My Six

About this book

GRACE & MERCY GOT MY SIX is Michael L. Vickers' personal testimony of faith, family, resilience, and the unmistakable presence of God throughout a lifetime of experiences.Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Vickers grew up in the historic Cleveland Court housing community during a pivotal period in American history. As a young boy, he witnessed the realities surrounding the Civil Rights Movement while also being grounded in church, family, community, and a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.Through deeply personal stories, Vickers reflects on the people, places, challenges, victories, losses, and unexpected encounters that helped shape the man he became. From childhood memories and family experiences to military service, his career with the United States Postal Service, marriage, fatherhood, grief, and moments when he witnessed God move in extraordinary ways, each chapter reveals another part of his journey. At the heart of the book is a simple but powerful realization: through every season, God's grace and mercy were there.Vickers shares stories of helping others, receiving help when he needed it most, learning to recognize the leading of the Holy Spirit, surviving difficult seasons, and discovering that people should not be judged simply by their appearance, background, or circumstances. His experiences remind readers that God can use ordinary people, unexpected moments, and even painful situations to accomplish a greater purpose.Grace & Mercy Got My Six is more than one man's life story. It is a testimony to God's faithfulness and an invitation for readers to look back over their own lives and recognize the moments when grace and mercy were covering them too.Every story carries a lesson. Every season has a purpose. And through it all, grace and mercy have his six.
