James Son of Alphaeus

About this book

He appears in every list of the twelve apostles. And then he disappears. No sermons. No recorded miracles. No dramatic speeches.Just a name.James son of Alphaeus walked the same dusty roads as Peter. Sat at the same table as John. Witnessed the same miracles. Stood at the foot of the same unfolding story.Yet history preserved almost nothing about him.Almost.What remains is a mystery wrapped in silence.A faithful disciple hidden in the shadows of the Gospel story.A man who followed Jesus through every triumph and every trial.A witness to the crucifixion.A witness to the resurrection.A witness to the birth of the Church. Then came Jerusalem. The temple. The crowd. The final choice that would confront nearly every apostle: Stop preaching.Or die.James chose neither silence nor safety. He chose faith.Thrown from the heights of the temple and beaten with a fuller's club, James gave his life in the city that had already taken the life of his Master. But who was this hidden apostle? Was he the brother of Matthew the tax collector? Why do the Gospels say so little about him?How did a man history barely noticed become one of the foundations of the Christian faith? And what can his story teach believers today about faithfulness, humility, courage, and sacrifice?Drawing from Scripture, early Christian tradition, and historical research, JAMES SON OF ALPHAEUS: Blood on the Stones of Jerusalem brings to life one of the most overlooked figures in biblical history.Perfect for readers who enjoy: - Christian biographies- Biblical history and archaeology- The Twelve Apostles- Early Church history- Bible character biographies- Christian historical biographies- Stories of faith, courage, and martyrdomBook Ten in the Witnesses of the Resurrection series, an epic collection exploring the lives, journeys, struggles and sacrifices of the apostles after the resurrection of Jesus Christ.History remembered his name.Faith remembered his witness. Now discover the story of the apostle the world almost forgot,
