Closer Than Before

About this book

What if going deeper with God doesn't begin with doing more-but with becoming more honest? You can pray regularly. Read your Bible. Go to church. Listen to sermons. Genuinely love God and want to follow Him.And still sense that He is inviting you deeper.Closer Than Before is a short, honest Christian growth book for anyone who wants a more meaningful relationship with God-not through another complicated spiritual routine, but through examining what may be happening beneath the surface of the faith you already have.Through relatable stories, Scripture, reflection questions, practical exercises, and prayer, you'll explore five deeply personal questions: Do I want God-or mostly what He can do for me?Will I allow Scripture to change me, not just comfort me?Am I willing to obey what I already know? Can I trust God with what I cannot control?Am I willing to be completely honest with Him about what is really in my heart? These aren't questions meant to produce guilt. They're invitations to recognize the places where God may be calling you into greater trust, surrender, obedience, and honesty.Inside, you'll discover how to recognize when prayer has become mostly about getting answers, allow Scripture to challenge as well as comfort you, distinguish between needing God's direction and needing courage to obey, separate faithful responsibility from the need to control outcomes, and bring even the hidden or difficult parts of your heart honestly before God.Each chapter concludes with questions for personal reflection, a simple exercise you can put into practice immediately, a prayer, and one truth to carry forward. You don't need to have everything figured out.You don't need to become a perfect Christian. And you may not need another list of things to do.Sometimes going deeper with God begins with one honest prayer, one surrendered outcome, one difficult act of obedience, or one door in your heart finally opened to Him.Because the goal isn't simply to do more for God.It's to know Him more deeply-and become closer than before.
