An Ordinary Kind of Brave

About this book

Maya Bennett has always noticed things others walk right past - but noticing has never been the same as doing something about it.When a frightening asthma attack sends Maya to the hospital, she wakes up somewhere she never expected: a warm, glowing in-between place, face to face with an angel named Celeste. Celeste shows Maya something she's never let herself see clearly - the quiet struggle of a classmate she's noticed but never really known. Maya is given a choice, and a purpose: to be brave enough to close the distance between seeing someone and truly showing up for them.Back home, Maya must learn to recognize the difference between wisdom and the whisper of doubt that tells her it's safer to look away. One lunch table, one small act of courage at a time, Maya discovers that the bravest things in life are often the quietest ones - and that an ordinary kid, choosing kindness on an ordinary day, can change everything. An Ordinary Kind of Brave is Book One in the Chosen Hearts: The Purpose Chronicles series - a heartfelt, faith-filled chapter book series for readers ages 8-10 about second chances, quiet courage, and the purpose God places in every child's heart.Perfect for young readers who love stories about friendship, kindness, and faith in action.
