Archaic expressions have been replaced with words in common use today, and long or involved sentences recast for clarity, always with care to preserve the sense of the original.- Reverent in tone. Contractions are avoided throughout, and pronouns referring to God are capitalized.- The divine name restored. Where the Greek manuscripts put the word for Lord in the place of the sacred name, the name Yahweh has been restored wherever it stands for the God of Israel; where Lord is a title, it is kept as a title.- Every chapter and verse clearly numbered - 148 chapters and more than 4,300 verses - with a full table of contents.- Readable page design: a generous two-column setting sized for study, teaching, and daily reading. The English text is a modern revision prepared from public-domain sources: the Revised Version (1895) and the Septuagint translation of Sir Lancelot C. L. Brenton (1851).Translated and edited by Hegumen Abraam Sleman.A companion volume to The Holy Bible: Master Standard Version - offered so that the reading of Holy Scripture may be inviting and clear, and that through it many may grow in the knowledge and love of God.
