The Seat at the Table

About this book

Nia Osei finally has a seat on the elementary school's Spring Enrichment Committee - the seat she worked all year for. Then the committee quietly moves to cut the very scholarship fund that got Nia into last year's science club in the first place. Now she has to decide: use the seat she fought for, or protect it by staying quiet. The Seat at the Table is Book 9 in The Hollow Creek Kids series, a modern-day retelling of the story of Esther for readers ages 9-10. It's a story about courage, honesty, and using whatever influence you have for people who don't have any of their own. Includes discussion questions, a note for parents and teachers, and a look at the Bible story behind the book.
