The Shepherd Who Knew My Name

About this book

Every night, a lantern shines on the hill. In the little village of Stillwater, Wren is the smallest girl of all, too small to carry the water bucket, too small to go out in the fishing boats, and much too small, she thinks, to matter. Then, on the night of a bright new star, a stranger comes down from the hills with a lantern that never goes out. He mends broken gates and broken wings. He calms storms, welcomes children, and feeds a whole hillside of hungry people with one small basket of bread. And somehow, from the very first morning, he knows Wren's name. But wolves are prowling beyond the old stone wall. And on one dark and stormy night, Wren will discover just how far the Shepherd will go to bring one little lamb home. Inspired by the stories and teachings of Jesus, The Shepherd Who Knew My Name is a gentle, thrilling bedtime story told in thirteen short chapters, one for each night, for families to read aloud together, whether or not they have ever opened a Bible.
