From Montezuma, With Love...

About this book

Grounded in the honesty and rawness of lived experience, Montezuma Zepeda's debut collection traces a journey through memory, identity, and survival on occupied Indigenous land. Moving between the personal and political, these poems wrestle with the legacies of colonialism, the search for belonging, and the ongoing process of reconnection. For land defenders, community caretakers, and those finding their way back to themselves, these poems offer space for reflection. For generations, our stories were told for us and against us. These poems are an act of artistic resistance in the name of survival.
