Voodini

About this book

During one of their biggest numbers, Voodini's parents, Houdini Junior, a great escape artist and illusionist, and his assistant Stella Samori mysteriously disappear. What would have been cause for despair if hers had been a normal family, was not at all, and Voodini, as distraught as she is over her parents' sudden disappearance, knows it could be her most successful show to date... One very hot summer day, Voodini's grandmother receives a letter: she must go to Haiti urgently. Voodini will stay with Bricks, a strange and mysterious boy whom the grandmother seems to have a lot of confidence in. The first night alone begins quietly with talk and laughter, when suddenly an old rock song plays in a mysterious place in the house. The sound comes from a mysterious locked trunk... His mother and father are a couple of illusionists. Grandma is a quirky old lady expert in magical arts. Voodini, like her father, is capable of picking any lock. And that secret trunk is a challenge she's not about to lose!
