An alien bat army seeks the ancient Zoe-Chai tree and the life-giving magic it holds. For the first time in its history, the peaceful kingdom must prepare for war, calling every creature-great and small-to stand and defend what they love. While the kingdom braces for battle, Journee and her friends are sent north on a race against time to retrieve a legendary elven staff, forged long ago to protect the Zoe-Chai tree forever. Their journey leads them into lands of old magic, hidden truth, and an encounter Journee never expected-a zealous queen who looks strikingly like herself. As danger closes in, Journee must face the question she can no longer avoid: Who is she, really? For as fire purifies gold and silver-the tested heart reveals all.In a battle of hearts, wills, and minds, Journee must choose her own destiny before everything she holds dear is lost.
