Twice Mine

About this book

When a young boy named Sam sets out to build a boat with his own two hands, he pours his heart into every detail-carefully carving, sanding, and painting it until it is just right. The little blue boat becomes his greatest treasure... until one unexpected gust of wind carries it away down the stream.Heartbroken, Sam watches as the boat disappears from sight. Days turn into weeks, and though he tries to move on, he never forgets what he lost. Then one day, in a shop window in town, Sam sees something that makes his heart stop-his boat. The very one he made. But now it has a price tag attached.Determined to bring it home, Sam works hard, earning and saving every coin he can. At last, with enough money in hand, he returns to the shop and buys back the treasure he never stopped loving.Holding it close, Sam whispers the words that change everything: "Now you are twice mine."Twice Mine is a tender and beautifully illustrated story that gently reveals a powerful truth: we are deeply loved. Just as Sam made his boat and later bought it back, this story reflects the profound message that we are created with care and, even when we drift away, we are never forgotten. With warm, nostalgic illustrations and a heartfelt narrative, this book invites children and families into meaningful conversations about love, belonging, and redemption. A special section at the end offers a clear and thoughtful explanation of the story's deeper meaning, along with a simple prayer and questions to guide discussion.Perfect for children ages 4-8, Twice Mine is a story to be read, treasured, and returned to again and again-a reminder that no matter how far we wander, we are always loved and always worth bringing home.
