Victors Discovers Treasure

About this book

Where do people search for treasure? Deep underwater, in old, dusty mines, in the mountains, even under an old tree on a deserted island. Pirates, bad guys, and even fun-loving little boys bury treasure. To find it you need a special treasure map.The Bible is God's treasure map. Our reward; our "gold" is living in heaven with Him someday. But sometimes we need help "reading" the map and understanding its mystery language. When adults say "light as a feather" or "strong as an ox", we know what they mean. It is very clear that something doesn't weigh very much or that it is very strong. When the Bible speaks in mystery language it may not be so obvious. Why are we called a pot, a sheep, or a branch? Why is Jesus called a Potter, a Shepherd, a Vine, or even a Ladder? These 45 daily digs into God's Word give kids some of the clues and discoveries they need to reach life's reward (their treasure) with God the Father someday. Since a donkey is mentioned more than 100 times in the Bible, it is part of the fun and adventure to have "Victor" help us out. "Discovery" involves searching, exploring, digging, and finding something good! The Bible is full of word treasure clues; words that put a picture in our minds to make our journey on this earth a discovery of truth.Adults call Bible word treasures metaphors, similes, and imagery. It's called "freedom language" in Romans 6:19 from the Message. Paul says, "I'm using this freedom language because it is easy to picture." After each daily dig, there is a list of the Bible verses where the clues can be found. BUT... you have to "Dig Deeper" in the back of the book to find out exactly what those verses say. The versions chosen enable young children to understand. There is also an interactive activity that parents and grandparents can help with. This book will cause children to smile, laugh, think, and ponder. But most of all they will discover the pathway to gold--freedom language for Heaven.
