The Magic Purple Potion

About this book

Book 2 of "Emma Puff's Secrets Series" continues the adventures and antics of Emma Puff and friends along with Rusty, her talking puppy that only Emma and her friend George can hear, and Mr. Musk, the mischievous talking parrot. Once a 90-year-old woman and now a nine-year-old girl, Emma, her old dog Rusty, and her lifelong best friend, George, were transported to their youth by the same purple potion that Mr. Musk meddled with. Puppy Rusty serves as the award-winning series' narrator. Now Emma, George, Rusty and Mr. Musk all live with the Goldhearts, a loving foster family in the wilds of the Suffolk, England, countryside. When some of Emma's magic potion accidentally gets dabbed on some of her young friends, you won't believe what happens next. Then when one boy in their friend circle is badly hurt and is hospitalized, Emma faces a big decision. What will she do to save a friend? This heartfelt story bridges the gap between old and young while entertaining and delivering moving messages about creating family of the heart, having empathy and caring for others. "The Magic Purple Potion" manages to conjure up a big dose of kindness and love. The book features a Glossary of United Kingdom English words, book club questions, and 26 full color illustrations. It is forthcoming in audiobook format and narrated by the author's adult daughter, Hannah Deasy, who listened to her mother's stories at bedtime.
