Arm Up, Rookie!

About this book

As a father and son duo are preparing for a rodeo, the father is reminded of the "Armor of God" while they are putting on their gear. The dad takes this opportunity to compare each piece of safety gear with each piece of God's armor, and uses this as a teachable moment with his son. The son's wild antics keep your attention while the dad takes you into a deeper understanding of who God is and what it takes to stand up to the enemy. The relationship between the boy and his dog offers comical relief throughout the book as the tough topic of spiritual warfare is introduced in a way children can understand."Arm Up Rookie!" is based on a real father/son duo that took place at a rodeo in Casper, WY. In the story, the father feels compelled to share his faith with his son while he's preparing for a mutton busting event. He compares his son's safety gear with the 'Armor of God' and explains the importance of putting on the armor. The book is a reminder that most of the battles we face are not of flesh and blood, but spiritual battles in our hearts and minds. It should inspire us to 'arm up' daily and to face our battles on our knees.
