The Lost Jewels of Room 713

About this book

Bea and her cousin Céline tackle another cryptic mystery--this time in the streets of New York City--when Aunt Juliette is accused of a jewel theft in this "delightful" (School Library Journal) installment in the Bea Bellerose Mystery middle grade series that's perfect for fans of The Swifts and The Misfits. It's springtime in New York, and Bea can't wait for her cousin Céline and Aunt Juliette to visit. The girls are looking forward to a fun week of sightseeing, while Aunt Juliette is there to write a profile on a famous French actress, Eva, who's starring in a stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's The Mystery of the Blue Train. But when the priceless diamond necklace Eva plans to wear on opening night is stolen from her hotel suite--and Aunt Juliette is accused of the theft--Bea and Céline find themselves once again at the center of a mystery. With help from the hotel owner's son, the two girls embark on a scavenger hunt across the city, following clues left by an anonymous helper. But can Bea and Céline trust this person to have their best interests at heart--and can they find the evidence to clear Aunt Juliette's name before her fast-approaching court date?
