I Can Do This

About this book

I CAN DO THIS-FROM A CHILDHOOD DREAM TO A FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL is a story about resilience. A journey that proved that the hardest games we sometimes participate in aren't just fought on the playing field but in our minds and souls. Baseball was not just a game for Greg Donahue-it was his life's passion. Childhood practices turned into countless hours of sacrifices and determination. Each swing of the bat was fueled by a single goal: to become a professional baseball player. A dream so close that changed in the blink of an eye. The opponent on the other side was relentless and unforgiving. It was called cancer. Dugouts were now replaced with hospital rooms, chemotherapy treatments, and a never-ending fight for survival. I CAN DO THIS takes the reader inside that battle-physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a story of confronting fear, anger, and uncertainty. This book is about the ability to redefine yourself in those moments when you feel like giving up but choosing not to. Being able to find a purpose when the dream you built your life around disappears. With raw honesty and unwavering resolve, Donahue reveals how resilience is forged in the darkest moments of one's life. For anyone facing an uphill battle, questioning their path, or searching for the strength to push forward, this memoir offers something deeply personal and relatable: HOPE!
