God Made You, My Darling Girl

About this book

When Kelsie Detweiler was looking for a good book that would teach her own young children they were perfectly created by their loving Creator, she discovered there weren't a lot of books out there that celebrated His beautiful intent for each one of us. Wanting something that would show her daughter she was "fearfully and wonderfully made," Detweiler developed a beautiful picture book to discuss the uniqueness of each girl. The result is God Made You, My Darling Girl-a delightful, age-appropriate book to help begin the conversation about God's handiwork in our creation and what it means to be a girl. Also available is the companion book, God Made You, My Darling Boy."Kelsie tackles the complex topic of gender with simple dexterity and straightforward storytelling. In a confusing time, Kelsie's writing is formative for little hearts and minds."-Eric Novak, AuthorWhere Is Jesus, Making All Things New, and Tiny Liturgies"God Made You, My Darling Girl is a book that needs to be read to every precious little girl. As a mom and grandma of six girls, I know that little ladies need to understand that God has had a plan for their womanhood ever since He created them in their mother's womb. Being a little girl is a gift that only God can give with the uniqueness of her body parts and the specialness and gift of being female. There is no confusion as to what God designs because He is the Master Creator with the perfect plan for every life He creates. Thank you, Kelsie, for writing this much-needed book and the reciprocal title for little boys!"-Jennifer BosmaAward-winning author of I Know the Plans and The Baby Garden Host of a Christian women's podcast, Front Parking Spot"Every child is wonderfully made by God from the inside out for a unique purpose. Girls, specifically, will smile to discover God's remarkable design about being a girl that lasts a lifetime in this essential book."-Jennifer Noel Wilson, AuthorThe Best Trophy"God Made You, My Darling Girl is a unique, little treat that introduces our daughters to their girly DNA in a simple but cute way by learning how we were wonderfully designed by our glorious Maker. I can see little girls everywhere pulling this off the shelf, running to their mothers, and asking them to read it again and again about how God made them a girl!"-Allison Dennis, AuthorVirtue Chicks"What a delightfully refreshing book for young girls about their gender and immense value to God their Creator, Who made them uniquely different from boys but equally made in His image for a good purpose. God Made You, My Darling Girl by Kelsie Detweiler is a counter-cultural must-have book for Christian parents that's a breath of fresh air in a culture trying so hard to confuse our kids with a distorted view of their identity and gender. This book delivers a message of truth straight from the Bible that will affirm the God-given identity of every young girl. I have not read a book like this, and it's something our culture desperately needs. I highly recommend it!"-Karen Ferguson, AuthorGuess How Much God Loves You and Guess Who Is In God's Family"God Made You, My Darling Girl is a life-giving, truth-filled book with whimsical pictures that remind our daughters exactly who God made them to be! This book is light for little girls in a very dark world!"-Hannah Parker, AuthorYou Are My Blessing
