About this book

One Damaged War Dog, One Missing Boy, And Two Hearts That Can't Heal Until He Finds Them Both.Retired Navy SEAL Michael Bukowski has devoted his quiet country retreat to healing warriors. Haunted as the sole survivor of a mission gone wrong, he lives in the shadow of the captain who died saving his life. So when a battle-scarred war dog is abandoned in his care, Michael can't turn him away. Broken things are his specialty. What he needs is help. What he gets is fourteen-year-old Brandon Simkin, hired to handle a dog trained for war- all because the boy's mother is the widow Michael can't forget. The widow whose husband died on his watch.NCIS investigator Maria Simkin has held her family together on grit and long hours since losing Ian. She doesn't need a man- especially not one who carries her husband's death in his eyes. But Michael's quiet, protective strength draws her against all reason. And something about his unshaken faith, after everything he's endured, stirs the embers of her own. Then when Brandon vanishes without a trace, hope rests on the last hero anyone would expect- a cast-off dog named Draco with one more mission left in him. What Draco uncovers won't just bring Brandon home; it will blow Maria's most dangerous case wide open, forcing Michael and Maria to decide whether the past that binds them will destroy their chance at love or become the very thing that redeems it.A stirring novella of faith, courage, and second chances in the beloved Lost Are Found series- where those who are lost are never beyond God's reach.
