The Gift of the Seed

About this book

An Easter parable written and illustrated by award-winning artist Kate Lee. This tender and beautifully illustrated picture book introduces readers to a new parable about a small boy who plants a simple seed, unaware of the extraordinary journey that seed will take. As the tree and the boy grow, the reader learns that the boy is Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, who is now a grown man sharing profound acts of love and kindness with others. But when the tree is cut down and shaped into Christ's cross, it believes its purpose is over. On the morning of the Resurrection, however, it witnesses a miracle, and all things are made new, including the tree. With stunning illustrations and a heartfelt narrative by Kate Lee, The Gift of the Seed invites children and families to reflect on the powerful message of Easter--that through sacrifice comes redemption, and through faith, life blooms again. This parable will inspire readers of all ages with its timeless message of hope and renewal.
