Notes from My Father's Bible

About this book

Al Brown takes his Bible with him everywhere. A birthday gift from his wife and children in 1984, his New American Standard Open Bible edition travels with him from place to place and from moment to moment. He writes in the margins, underlines verses, and marks special passages. A father wants to share his faith with his children, so Al started this book as a collection of his encounters with God, impressions of Bible books, meaningful notes, and favorite verses. He intended it for his two daughters, Anna and Jordan, but as he compiled lessons from his well-loved Bible, he realized they applied to any person of faith as well as any person curious about faith. Notes from My Father's Bible offers readers an intimate picture of a man who learns to meet God in the everyday and the unusual; in a single verse and in epic scripture tales; in the love of family and in conversations with strangers. Take your favorite Bible and join Al as he takes the mystery out of the mystery.
