The Baptism with the Holy Spirit

About this book

R A Torrey's book, 'The Baptism with the Holy Spirit', explores how Christians are filled and energized by the presence of God for Christian service. In clear and simple language, R. A. Torrey teaches: - What the baptism with the Holy Spirit is- What the baptism with the Holy Spirit does- Its necessity for the believer- How this experience can be obtained- The need for refilling with the Holy Spirit, and- How the spiritual power can be lost.Torrey teaches that every Christian receives the Spirit at salvation (Romans 8:9) but not every Christian is baptized with the Spirit (Luke 24:49). He believes the "Promise of the Father" (Acts 1:4) is for every Christian who will tarry and pray for the Baptism (Luke 11:13). As readers make their journey through this powerful work, they will encounter a unique perspective on important issues facing Christians today. Though written many years ago, this classic work is just as timely now as it was at the turn of the 20th century.
